   The southern part of Bali, although generally chaotic and too touristy, has the best beaches on the island and several interesting sightseeing tours, so if you travel to this destination, I recommend you spend at least three full days there. If Bali is too crowded, the area of ​​Kuta and surroundings takes the palm: it was there where the first travelers came in search of surf and they also found a paradise to export. But in spite of the noise and that the Balinese culture is not as present as in other areas, Kuta and surroundings can also be enjoyed. Legian street is nice, ideal to buy souvenirs or a dress haggling with the locals; The beach is very suitable for surfing and the best to see it, as it is full of surfers at all hours !; And the sunset is an event that you can not miss. The locals flock to the beach in packs, many of whom want to take photos with you, play football or simply bathe; And spontaneous bars are set up with fresh beers and boxes as local bar. There are beautiful sunsets that are harmless. Of course, the life of local people is shorter than in other parts of the island, or at least not so integrated, so forget to find a nice market or a temple in every corner.

   Day 1: South Bali to Munduk (L)

   
   

   Setting off from South Bali, this scenic transfer of eight to nine hours begins at the iconic Tanah Lot Temple, a sacred shrine perched dramatically on an offshore rock formation. From there, discover the UNESCO-listed Jatiluwih rice terraces cascading down the mountainside, before reaching the cool highland resort of Bedugul and its lakeside Ulundanu Temple. The day concludes with an overnight stay in Munduk, with lunch served at a local restaurant.

   
   

   Day 2: Munduk to Lovina (B, L)

   
   

   Begin the morning with a guided trek through Munduk's lush plantations of cacao, cloves and coffee, then head towards Lovina via the scenic Git-Git waterfall. Visit a serene Buddhist monastery followed by Banjar Hot Spring, famed for its Balinese temple-style architecture and naga-carved fountains feeding three thermal pools. The journey ends with an overnight stay in Lovina, lunch included at a local restaurant.

   
   

   Day 3: Lovina to Candidasa (B, L)

   
   

   Travel onward to Candidasa, stopping first at Kintamani for spectacular views over Lake Batur. Continue to the sacred Besakih Temple, Bali's largest and holiest temple complex on the slopes of Mount Agung, before visiting the Water Palace at Taman Tirta Gangga, once a retreat of the Balinese Rajahs. Overnight in Candidasa, with lunch provided along the way.

   Enjoy a free day at leisure in Candidasa, with the option to book an on-the-spot excursion. Spend the day relaxing by the coast or exploring independently before another overnight stay in this charming seaside town.

   
   

   Day 5: Candidasa to Ubud (B, L)

   
   

   Depart Candidasa for Ubud, visiting the atmospheric Goa Lawah (Bat Cave) temple en route, followed by the fishing and salt-producing village of Kusamba with its colourful outrigger boats. Explore Kerta Gosa, the historic 18th-century 'Hall of Justice' renowned for its ornate ceiling murals, before arriving in Ubud for an overnight stay, with lunch included.
