The Giza Plateau, that includes the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, is the only remaining monuments of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World and the country's most famous tourist attraction. The sheer mass of the pyramids is awe inspiring. Islamic Cairo, the centre of historic Cairo, is best done on foot. Located east of downtown, it is full of charming little mosques and water fountains. The most important sites to visit are the Citadel, Mohamed Ali Mosque, Khan el Khalili, the main bazaar, some historic mosques and displays of medieval architecture, as well as some of Cairo's Turkish baths or Hammams.    Day 1: Cairo to the White Desert (L, D)

   Early morning pick-up from your hotel in Cairo or Giza before travelling to Bahariya Oasis, where you meet your safari guide and begin your desert adventure by 4x4 Jeep. Explore the dramatic Black Desert, relax at El Heize Oasis, and continue to the spectacular Valley of Agabat, surrounded by golden dunes and fascinating rock formations. Enjoy the opportunity to try sandboarding before continuing to the iconic White Desert. Admire the incredible chalk formations shaped by wind and sand over millions of years, then experience a magical desert sunset.    Day 2: White Desert – Bahariya Oasis (B)

   Wake up early to enjoy an unforgettable sunrise in the White Desert, followed by breakfast at the camp. Afterwards, travel towards Bahariya Oasis with a stop at the sparkling Crystal Mountain, also known as the Jewel of the Desert. Before returning to Cairo, relax in the natural waters of Bir Sigam Hot Spring in Bahariya Oasis. Your unforgettable desert adventure then concludes with the drive back to Cairo.
