Bangkok
Stay from
Bangkok, one of Asia’s most cosmopolitan cities, is the capital of Thailand. Bangkok is hot and crowded, but it's fairly clean and offers lots of fun things to do. Bangkok has great shopping, plenty of culture, amazing temples, delicious food and a decent art scene. Most of Bangkok's sights are concentrated on the island of Rattanakosin, often referred to as the Old City. The Grand Palace is the absolute must see site. The Grand Palace complex also houses the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Wat Phra Keow, the most sacred Buddhist temple. Other famous temples in Bangkok are the Wat Pho and Wat Arun temples. Bangkok is a great place for shopping. There are many shops, shopping centers and markets to satisfy every wish. The nightlife scene in Bangkok is as varied as the city itself, from beer bars to exclusive clubs, night shopping markets, discos to hippie parties. Bangkok is a large sprawling metropolis, noisy and crowded yet peaceful and delicate. It is one of the world’s top destinations that one has to visit at least once in life. - 02 Nov

Koh Tao
Stay from
The small island of Koh Tao is located just north of Koh Samui and Koh Phangan, and can be easily reached via a public ferry crossing. Flights to Koh Samui are available from Bangkok, Chiang Mai, U-Thapao / Pattaya, Phuket, Krabi, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Hong Kong. Depending on the timetable, you may need an overnight stay on Koh Samui (transfer details can be found at the respective hotel). Koh Tao is considered an Eldorado for divers and snorkelers due to the clear water and the diversified underwater world. But also individualists, "island collectors" and beach enthusiasts have written themselves Koh Tao on their flag. The island of Nang Yuan, on the northwest tip of Koh Tao, is a busy excursion, but Koh Tao itself is spared. A fortified road leads from the Mae Haad Bay main ferry to the south to Chalok Baan Kao, to the north it ends in Sairee (other bays can be quite adventurous, prefer a longtail boat). In Mae Haad, the island's capital, there is a considerable number of restaurants, hang-out spots, mini-bars and shops. The service in the hotels is not quite on the booth of Koh Samui, which is often Burmese staff but very friendly. The main event is short and violent, falling into the months of November and December (not recommended). - 05 Nov

Koh Samui Island
Stay from
Koh Samui, nestled in the Gulf of Thailand, is a tropical island that blends palm-fringed beaches, lush jungle, and a relaxed yet lively atmosphere. Once a quiet haven for fishermen and backpackers, it has grown into a versatile destination that caters to honeymooners, families, wellness seekers, and adventure travelers alike. The island’s coastline is dotted with white-sand bays and turquoise waters, while the interior hides coconut plantations, waterfalls, and panoramic viewpoints. Most visitors base themselves in Chaweng or Lamai, the two busiest beach towns. Chaweng offers the liveliest nightlife on the island, with beachfront bars, clubs, and restaurants, as well as a long stretch of sand ideal for swimming and sunbathing. Lamai is slightly more laid-back but still has plenty of dining, shopping, and entertainment options. For a quieter stay, consider Bophut’s Fisherman’s Village, known for its chic yet relaxed vibe, or Maenam and Lipa Noi, where the atmosphere remains calm and family-friendly. Beyond the beaches, Koh Samui offers a rich mix of cultural and natural attractions. Visit the Big Buddha Temple (Wat Phra Yai) and Wat Plai Laem to admire intricate statues and learn about local Buddhist traditions. Nature lovers can explore Na Muang waterfalls, hike jungle trails, or join boat trips to nearby Koh Phangan and the spectacular Ang Thong Marine National Park, famous for its emerald lagoons and limestone cliffs. The island is also a popular wellness hub, with numerous yoga retreats, spa resorts, and detox programs. Getting around is relatively easy: taxis and songthaews (shared pickup trucks) are plentiful, and many visitors rent scooters or cars to explore at their own pace. The climate is generally warm year-round, with the driest months typically from January to April. Whether you’re looking to unwind on a quiet beach, indulge in Thai and international cuisine, or fill your days with activities on land and sea, Koh Samui offers a well-rounded island experience that can be as serene or as energetic as you choose. - 11 Nov
